From UK Special – Regent’s Canal

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Getting a feel of the countryside or a small English village or town in the heart of London with a walk along Regent’s Canal – which runs for over 6km from Islington N1 to the Thames River at Limehouse E14. I strolled along the canal in the Islington, Hoxton area – closest tube station Angel on the Northern Line. All along the canal are footpaths for walkers & bicyclist’s, benches to sit, relax & watch London slow down & the house boats floating by. There are some chilled out pubs & cafes along the canal for tea, coffee, a pint of beer or lunch.

From UK Special – Twilight London

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Jetlagged – is it sunrise or sunset? I take a twilight time walk to Knightsbridge – drop into Harrod’s bookstore, pick up a copy of Time Out London to get the lowdown on what’s going on, afternoon tea (or was it breakfast) at Harvy Nic’s rooftop cafe, sit outside but cozy & warm under a heater, walk through Hyde Park Corner & get some fresh air at sunset as the city lights up..
