I hope you’re well and that your 2010 is off to a fantastic start.

It’s hard to believe it is February already, and thus we come upon one of my, well, less than favorite holidays… indeed, Valentine’s Day. Bitterness and joking aside, I’m determined to embrace the holiday with a big smile, some exceptionally fun festivities, great friends, and a good sense of humor!

So please join me for a “Where’s The Romance??” party on Friday, February 5th, at FIAT SPACE in Aoyama. Friends, partners, couples, hopelessly romantic souls and otherwise, all are welcome.

Come with your heart on your sleeve, figuratively or literally, and I look forward to seeing you there.

Kicking the night off with a special “Electro Love” set, we’ll welcome DJ Guy Perryman (InterFM), and we will also be wishing Guy a Happy Birthday for his special day. Very excited that fabulous and renowned DJ friends Marshall (Solid), and Ryuichiro (Pinacolada Records) will also be kind enough to spin, and knowing their music I’m quite certain I won’t be the only one on the dance floor.

On Wednesday January 20 2010 Tokyo Disneyland launched a new music & dance show - The Power Of Music & I was there for the launch together with my Inter FM Global satellite program co-host Sayoko Kamei. The 30 minute show features 100 performers (!!) & a range of musical styles including tribal, jungle, club, power ballad, pop & rock.. it was a ton of fun to watch & you can now see it performed everyday. Sayoko & I had a good laugh in the land of fantasy for a couple of hours!!

The Power Of Music show.

An amazing voice in the world of music - Emiliana Torrini who has worked with Thievery Corporation & Paul Okenfold, written for Kylie Minogue, toured with Sting, Moby, Travis & Tricky, appeared on The Lord Of The Rings soundtrack & created her own solo music (whew!!) was in Tokyo to perform live in January 2010 & dropped into the Inter FM studios to have a chat with me & my co-host Sayoko - click on the play button below to listen..

On Thursday 2010.1.14 some lovely staff from HIS (one of Japan’s largest travel agencies) visited the Inter FM studios & were interviewed on my radio program Global Satellite, together with my co-host Sayoko Kamei.
Not only were the HIS staff really cool kids, they are also working in the Eco Tourism Division which has been set up to encourage young people in Japan to go overseas & work as volunteers for various charities. It’s Coming Of Age Day “Seijinshiki” national holiday in Japan today 2010.1.11 where all 20 year olds become adults. On my Inter FM show Global Satellite today - together with co-host Sayoko (no holiday for us..) we had a load of emails from listeners who wanted to know what we were doing (& what we looked like) when we “came of age”. Well here you are - me at the sweet tender age of 21. Back then I was doing just what I’m still doing today - radio DJ. Jeez it was so long ago we didn’t even have colour photos back then..
