James Bond Sipsmith London Gin Martini

Saturday, June 30th, 2012

While I was in London broadcasting LHR – London Hit Radio – live from London in June 2012 I had a wonderful afternoon at the equally wonderful Dukes Hotel, St James and was welcomed into the legendary Dukes Bar by Head Bartender Alessandro Palazzi.

We had a chat about the legacy of the bar where Ian Flemming spent a lot of time and was inspired for his James Bond stories. The famous Bond Martini was invented here and Alessandro creates a Martini inspired by Bond using Sipsmith London Dry Gin.

I also had a gentlemanly conversation in the bar with Fairfax Hall of Sipsmith who told me the story of his original London Dry Gin, which is now only one of two gins produced in London.

Sit back, relax and click on the play button below to join a truly classic London afternoon..
